I called the girl 'Edith' in my description...a senior moment...it's ETHEL.

Wonderful Lewis, this project is coming along so well, I look forward to the next page.

Ha..Rolling back the years. All great memories Lew and terrificly done.

This is a great piece of social history in an artistic form. Valuable for future generations. Love your original talent Lewis.

And all the memories flood back with your super drawings, Lewis....I was always Wyatt Earp and made hobby horses out of Dad's old socks!

Thanks very much for your great feedback. Many of you must have very similar memories.

More excellent images Lew.

Keep the instalments coming Lewis, they're great.

Another in the family book I'm making. The bombsites were everywhere when I was a kid, in fact, there were quite a few around when I left home. At this time they'd been made 'safe', but we weren't supposed to play on them...but all the kids did, until they were chased off by adults and cops. The Saturday morning pictures were a riot of noise. Memory is an odd thing. Brian Green was my best mate for many years, I recall his mop of curly hair and his stooped posture, but my memory won't let me 'see' his face. It's this same with Edith, a little dot of a girl and a bit bossy, but I can't 'see' her face. This doesn't matter, I'm not attempting 'portraits'...it's just odd.

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
