Brian Matthews sent in his December project saying: 'Because the reference photograph was taken into the light. leaves on the trees are not the same colour as those on the ground. In retrospect I wonder whether the painting would look more realistic if all leaves had been painted a similar colour. An interesting challenge, more involved than I first thought'
