I used acrylics in red, orange, yellow, a little olive green and these colors together made up the dark color. I usually finish with the centers, while they are still somewhat wet. Note: They do take some time to dry completely before varnishing. I highly recommend you try this technique! You will also see on the top right flower a heart shape, not planned by me...... smile.... sometimes it's nice to not be in control and see what the paint does!
