I hadn't noticed about the light going across the painting - all looks fine to me but then the artist always has aspirations for a painting that the viewer doesn't always see or know about. I just love the people and their shadows - super stuff.

Would it still be possible to lift out Joseph? ( I'm no water colourist) still got a lovely feel to it though.

Good use of tone here, I agree with Thea, would not have noticed the mistake with the light effect.

I think the long shaft of light does work here, (even though as you say it could have been extended all the way across the image.) I love all the atmospheric effects of light and colour you are creating. Beautiful painting Joseph.

Beautiful atmosphere of sunlight slitting through the buildings, looks good to me, love the long shadows too.

Lift more if you fance Joseph but it doesn't distract me and those two figures in the center are smack on smashing. Even the curve of their lower leg is nailed.

Love that colour Joseph Alvaro has a serious competitor here

A bit of an experiment here with trying to capture light and subtle rings of colour. The long shafts of light didn't quite work (I should have lifted all way across the image.
