Absolutely fabulous. So alive & fresh. You might very well be pleased with it. Of course not having seen your daughter, I can't judge the accuracy of the likeness. It has so much life in it, I feel it must be very close. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

A lovely fresh portrait Jools - you seem to be getting on well with the Artisan water-based oils :)

I dont usually comment on portraits - not knowing the sitter, one cant tell how good a likeness the artist has achieved. However this painting is so delightful, I had to congratulate you! Fresh and bright and a lovely open face.

It is such a good painting you just know it's a good likeness, it's so alive.

I think that this is full of character, and not just a likeness of your daughter. It is the nicest portrait that I have seen in a very long time.

A really good natural portrait, bet your daughter liked this very much.

Thank you everyone for your lovely encouraging comments. I loved painting it and felt a great sense of achievement when I had finished it. Bridget still hasn't seen the portrait (only an image sent by email) so I will have to wait until Christmas when she visits, for her comments!

This portrait of my daughter Bridget was undertaken from a photograph and is painted in Artisan water-based oils. To date I have done two other portraits, and I am very pleased with this one. i struggled for a while with the mouth area because Bridget didn't feel it was correct. Eventually I got it right and she approved! It hangs in my bedroom now so that I can see her every morning when I wake.
