Unusual treatment which works very well John. It is good except....nitpicking, but I think it has to be done on this sort of subject....the wheels are flat, probably the bottom section of the rim wouldn't be seen.

I like the Art Deco look to this work. The loco looks ready to depart from Grosmont. It appears to be the wartime built loco named "Dame Vera Lynn", as far as I recall from visits there. Would make a good travel poster for the line.

A beautifully executed watercolour.
It gives a new interest to a painting about a train.

I love your very distinctive style and it works particularly well with this subject.

John we have exchanged stuff and hope it helps, however looking closer again, it's not at the platform as this is in the foreground, silly old codger that I am, therfore the rims would be cleaerly seen. The wheels now do look wrong, the rail is flattening them, I do think it is possible to alter them though, good luck.

Superb blocks of washes - very clever John
First time I've seen a psychedelic train! Makes the painting different and more interesting though.

Beautifully done, love the superb use of geometric shapes, the wonderfully luminous washes and the lovely palette.

I think the strength of the overall painting in its unique style more than compensate for the technicalities of the wheel rims. It is after all, as much of a design than a painting. I like it a lot.

Like your style John - its has a sort of cubist design element which is great.
