not strictly watercolour. After a morning trying to draw a beautiful Inuit sculpture of a Polar Bear in the Scott Polar Museum in Cambridge, I came home and tried to recreate it, showing the strength and power and sheer size of the animal. I had a lot of sheep-faced polar bears, and was getting a bit fed up with the drawing. So, I drew over it in thick felt pen to try and catch the essential animal. I then had a black and grey polar bear. I painted the shape with watered indigo watercolour, and managed to correct the shape, but had a blue polar bear silhouette. So, I used white acrylic paint over the blue to give it the feel of a polar bear in an icy northern hemisphere. Then miixed the white with the blue indigo to shadow. A rough sketch, after quite a few attempts at polar bears.
