This one started as a painted yellow rose, but somehow it wasn't working. So, I extended the yellow paint to the edges, then dripped some water on to make it patchy. I then started to remove the yellow from the centre, using a toothbrush and a rag, in an attempt to make a space in which to paint the rose. The result was a rose shape. So I waited until it had dried, then painted clear water round the edge of the shape and ran indigo into it. Then added some lemon yellow to give an effect of green foliage. I suggested the leaves of the rose bush, and just added shadow to suggest rose petals on the cleared shape. Not a botanical effort. Rescuing a mistake...
