Great shapes and colours. I've always avoided that arcade but will look next time I am in Cambridge.

Lofty and cold, Sian :)....

Very nicely abstracted - great colours.

By mixed, I mean ink, watercolour, calligraphy pen in black and gold... I chose to be bold. This was from the third floor balcony of Grand Arcade, Cambridge. I did a quick sketch in site, and took a lot of photos. I was struck by the tunnel-like nature of this arcade, the curved shape and, although you can't see it, the upward slope inside. It has been shoe-horned into the back of Lion Yard in Cambridge, and, as such, looks a lot different from many shopping arcades, as it goes upwards rather than outwards, and has a glass roof over the whole thing. It is, for a shopping arcade, surprisingly cold to spend a morning sketching in... more like a train station :) It is by no means accurate, the intention was to give a feeling of tunnel-like depth, and to show how high the Christmas decorations had been hung ( although this is slightly exaggerated for effect)
