Thank you, Ellie was an aged dog and even found difficulty standing when I visited for the first time to take her photograph 3 years ago. I am so pleased to have been able to see her before it was too late. I love painting pets that can 'talk back to me' as I'm painting if you get what I mean. And yes the velour is marvelous for animal paintings though I do have difficulty in getting a really good point on a faber-castell pastel pencil for doing the finer work. I use faber-castell because I use the soft pastels for the main work and although I have tried other pencils I can't seem to use them on the velour without pressing firmly and that damages the support.
