This, I think, is the best portrait from a photograph that I've ever seen - the teeth (fiendishly difficult in watercolour, or come to that any other medium) the eyes, the skin tones, all add up to a really convincing portrait of someone who looks like a lively and interesting chap. You really should be proud of this one - and I'm sure he WILL like it.

I met John recently, when London Welsh were playing Caldicot. I had a photo taken with the great gentleman, and painted this portrait for him. I hope he likes it!
