SOUTHWOLD

Amazing co-incidence but I have just finished a pen and wash of exactly the same scene and and intend to post it tomorrow. Even the light is coming from the same direction as when I took my photo - and we also had a lovely holiday in Southwold. What a small world! Anyway, your oil rendition is very different of course from a pen and wash version. I think you have got great light into it and your sky is suitably threatening (it was a lovely day when I was there). Lovely work, Graham.

I like your version very much,nice clean colours.You are right about the parking,a real free for all when we returned from a day trip.Southwold is a great place for art though as there are subjects to paint around every corner. I did another couple of pen and washes of Southwold after our holiday. They are on are on my gallery. One is' Lunch at the Sole Bay Inn' and the other is 'Southwold Panorama'. You will probably recognise the viewpoints. It's a great place and a lovely region.
