Lovely work Carole. I find that if use a pencil and the inevitable rubber, I loose the initial enthusiasm that I had for the subject and the whole painting process becomes too laboured as I find myself following the pencil lines too rigidly. Straight in with the brush is much more fun and the results can be good as you've just proved!

This is lovely and fresh Carole.

A lovely crisp, clean painting, Carole. Nice work.

This is a real beauty, Carole. I admire your ability to go straight in with the brush. Stunning!

Thank you all, much more fun and less stress (I think)

Splendid work, Carole! Your washes are really translucent and the whole piece has such an elegant appeal.

Can only agree with all that's been said Carole, so fresh and delicate.

I can see that this approach has produced a lovely flowing and free painting of these lovely flowers. Brave of you, but it worked!

Thank you Seok, Val, Glennis and Thea, you are all so reassuring I appreciate your comments.

Decided to just dive in with the paint brush, less hassle than pencil first!
