A very atmospheric impression, Fiona.

I really go for this Fiona. It has everything I like in impressionist painting. I can almost guarantee this tok you no time at all to do and yewt is so striking. . Lovely.

Lovely loose sketch Fiona - so few lines suggest so much :)

Thank you Mia. Jim, you are right it probably only took ten minutes or so, if that. Like yourself I like this kind of work, thanks very much. Thank you Margaret.

Lovelyvloose, spontaneous snowscapexFiona.

Lol....Carole, your comment made me laugh.....have you been at the bottle? Thank you for your comment and the chuckle.

Sure looks cold Fiona, an apt tile.

Love the loose style Fiona.

Lovely sketch Fiona

Beautiful, Fiona. I wish I could achieve so much with so few brush strokes.

Brrr ! roll on spring, Beautifully painted Fiona

Loose and lovely scene Fiona. No snow here yet but expected to hit tomorrow, getting the paint s ready!

The style which is unmistakably yours Fiona.

Stephen, Jennifer, Petra, Gudrun, Lynn, David, Tessa, Brian......thank you all very much. By the end of the day most had gone except for the hills, but it has been a beautiful day. Hope you don’t get too much Tessa, just enough not to be inconvenient but enough to give you a great painting subject.

This is lovely Fiona what paper do you use

I mean what weight and is it the not or whatever I don't know the terms but I'm looking to buy some .

Wonderful suggestive painting, Fiona.

I like the impressionistic style. I think it can be viewed in many ways but I immediately thought of the Antartic. Then looking closer I could see a seal slipping into the black water of the frozen tundra. The splash of bright colour brings it to life.

Love it. You've been able to suggest so much with so little...something way beyond me.

I do like the palette Fiona. Very appealing watercolour, and you've not overworked the foreground as you so often do with spikey Agavi...

Brrr! Lovely loose work

Beautiful washes and contrasts Fiona. We have complete white frost everywhere today, -7 last night!

Beautiful spontaneous painting, Fiona.

It certainly appears like a drunken comment Fiona but my excuse is that I’m getting used to a new, fancy keyboard that has far too many fancy gadgets, HONEST.

Love your colours in this. A great loose style, simple but very effective, love it !!!

Many thanks Dennis. The paper is Arches, cold pressed (not) 300g 140lb. It’s a lovely paper, I’ve tried quite a few over the years but this is the one I stick with.

Thank you Cesare. Janet I must have just missed the seal when I looked again! Many thanks. Thanks very much Lewis.

Jenny, Alan, Rachel x2, Carole...... -3 here but we had a bit more snow overnight. Ellen, Linda really appreciate you all taking the time to comment, thank you. I believe you Carole! Lol

Love your spontaneous sketches , Fiona,I can feel the cold winter.

Lovely work Fiona. Have you had much snow? Here in South Wales we are waiting for it to start so needless to say I'm not going out anywhere today lol.

Very nice Fiona. The sort of watercolour I like. Just a few washes and what a result!! ..and yes, we had quite a bit of snow and now it's freezing. PS. Not the 'b' word but dare I mention the 'p' word as in portrait? lol

Like the colours

Absolutely beautiful Fiona Your lovely loose washes are so atmospheric. The palette and wet in wet work really describe the subject so well

Annick thank you very much, I’m one of your biggest fans! Thanks Margaret, not much really fortunately, just a couple of inches. I bet you’ve already had quite a bit. Thanks Satu! Thanks very much Louise. Yes freezing here again as I type, quite a cold wind too, from the east. Don’t mention the ‘P’ word Louise, especially in front of my beloved......he’s threatened to confiscate my brushes and paint! I’ve already scrubbed two attempts off the canvas including the one I posted, I’m on number three. I just cannot get it! It’s driving me mad, and I’m so snappy and grumpy....hence the confiscation order on my stuff....lol. Thank you Ruth and Diana, you are very kind.

Lovely loose work packed with atmosphere

Thank you Dermot, very kind.

Very striking Fiona!

Sarah, thank you!

Very effective, Fiona. Keep it simple, eh? I like it more and more, the longer I look at it.

Roger I like the low input, high impact theory! Lol Thank you very much.

It's got to be a 14 Fiona

16”x12” Watercolour on Arches. Just found this, did it last year. Looking towards the hills, looked a bit like this this morning.
