The Lady of Trees.....(8)

Apologies for the quality of the photo, it isn’t very sharp on here. I’ll attempt to get another and replace.

You can’t replace it Fiona without posting it again from scratch... an anomaly with the new site which is, or was being looked into! A lot of work here... some rather good pencil work, not to mention dedication and patience!

Didn’t realise you couldn’t replace a photo Alan, thanks for that, I’ll leave it. It’s a good exercise for tones and shading to get forms. Thank you.

Beautifully drawn, Fiona - fabulous detail.

Wow, Fiona, this is fantastic. I admire your patience and determination. A perfect drawing and I also think the cat is at the left side bottom.

Fabulous detail - your patience paid off. Can't see a cat though ... but all sorts of other things are seen, imagination is a funny thing isn't it?

Hi Fiona, if you log in and click on Account, then `Gallery Items`, Find your pic , then you will then see three options, one being REMOVE. That will delete it from the site gallery. You can the re submit. I would also copy and paste your text before removing. Dave

Wow, thats dedication ...........yes i spotted the cat but won`t give it away. Super drawing

Fiona, have you seen the Porpoise!!!!

Brilliant Fiona, so much detail

This is brilliant Fiona.I haven’t looked for the cat my eye sight is bad enough without straining it .

Very skilful and interesting pencil work - well done, Fiona!(I think I can see a teddy bear's face!)

Great practice on concentration Fiona. Super result. I love trees. Have some bonsai trees as well.

Fiona if you do remove you will loose everyones comments

Absolutely Super Fiona. Think I have spotted the Cat without looking at other comments ! I mentioned to Dixie on a previous posting, there is a sign on a forest path in the Lakes, " Trees are the best antiques" or words to that effect.

What marvellous detail Fiona. Yes, I can see the cat but only knew to look from the comments.

A really brilliant drawing Fiona, so much detail, fabulous!

Great study Fions been meaning to have a go at something similar.

Wow. I think this photograph indicates the hours of work you have done. Really great drawing.

This is amazing Fiona!

Blimey Fiona! This is going some. Amazing in the detail. You got such texture. Don't think I could have attempted this - sketched part of a palm tree last year, exhausted at the end.

Amazing work Fiona! Nice cat. More than anything the work must reflect your personality - attention to detail, patience, talent and someone who keeps their loved one well dressed. I couldn't do this, for certain. You're amazing.

Wonderful tree study Fiona.

I can see lots of creatures in this wonderfully detailed drawing but not the cat.

Many, many thanks to you all for your very kind and encouraging comments.....they are always appreciated. Thanks you for the tip David but I think I’ll leave it, I should have checked the quality of the photo before posting. It looked okay on my screen. Yes the cat is bottom left, I didn’t see it my husband pointed it out.....can’t see the porpoise though! Shaun, give it a go, you can really get lost in the detail. Thanks again everyone!

Absolutely brilliant Fiona, wow

This is exceptionally good Fiona.

Such detail and patience, Fiona - no wonder you could only work on it for an hour at a time! (I’ve been looking at the gnarled and knotted trunks of our local ancient yew trees thinking they would make a good drawing.) Re replacing the photo, both Alan and I have mentioned this to Dawn a number of times - might help if someone else mentioned it.

What fabulous detail, you've captured the character and personality in this remarkable drawing.

Brilliant work Fiona, not surprised it took 4 hours!!

Romila, Jenny, Russell, Stevan, Linda.....thank you very much for your super comments, much appreciated.

This is fabulous Fiona. I can understand why it took you so long to do and it really does show the wonder of art and nature. A real inspiration.

Thank you Carol, can you see Squirt, tell him he’s immortalised....lol.

Hello Fiona, the Porpoise is just coming from behind a rock so you only see the face with the mouth open and eye. Its half way up on the left. What wonderful comments have been made......well done Fiona.

Ha ha, I see him David, he’s smiling! Thank you x

What a beautiful drawing this is and a labour of love. Very impressive Fiona x

12”x10” pencil drawing of a birch tree trunk. It’s like looking at, and drawing a landscape, close up. It’s taken me four days, an hour at a time to complete, couldn’t concentrate any more than an hour, sent my eyes funny! Can anyone spot the cat?
