This puts me in mind of the style of John Blockley Stevan, who’s work I love. It highlights the bleak harshness of the environment, with the cottage looking every bit isolated and vulnerable. You would think that the amount of green in the painting would make it overwhelming but it adds rather than subtracts to the atmosphere of the piece. As you can guess, l really like it! Lol.
