I've got one of those masking pens and have had mixed results. Glad you are getting on with yours, and I agree with Valerie, one of your best!

oh, that's fantastically done Paul. I like very contrasting tonal values, and the many "layers" of foreground, middle area and background are so exciting, I stare at it for a really long time, it's so beautiful. The passepartout gives the watercolor an additional nice depth, - really great Paul !!

Thank you Spencer and Kal I appreciate your comments . I looked back at a few paintings I did in early 2000 and they are very similar to this I do recall painting in this way when I started and the changed , maybe it’s time to explore it more.

Watercolour landscape slightly bigger than A4 , it a messing about experiment one , I used a maxing fluid pen that I recently bought to try out . The dark areas I have a very find spray of water over the top once it was dry and let it do it’s own thing not to sure thst it’s worked out that well . I will definitely use the masking pen again, I went out using it due to difficulty of applying with a brush etc but the built in tip works very well.
