Far from a muddy mess, it's terrific. The balloons and light look great with the diffused areas,quite spectacular.

After several friends were unable to identify the subject in this painting, I deepened areas and tried to make the balloons look more obvious. Whether I managed it or created a bit of a muddy mess is debatable
