A master at work here Derek absolutely superb

Lovely fluid lines; quite often the best work comes from when there's no time for measuring and thinking too much, doesn't it.

Too kind dennis and Caroline and yes the pressure of speed does spur me on, but I am a quick worker.

Do you know Derek, in my mind I can sketch like this but as soon as the pencil goes in my hand I freeze up. I draw one line and then the eraser comes out. Sigh!

Dump the eraser first of all, then keep at it. Life was first classes I attempted and it was damn hard and still thin so but I seem to manage it, but haven't done any for years. The hardest was much much later when I fiddled my place on a week, life in oils all day everyday for a week amongst several pros I was in awe of. Came out unharmed. Some were a bit precious but most helpful.

Brilliant stuff, especially in the time spent.

Thank you Gudrun and Marjorie

drawing is your forte Derek

You mean I can't paint David? LOL thanks, yes luckily but now straight lines freehand are a problem.

They are really good Derek and three minutes feels very short. I certainly wouldn't have enough time to do anything.

yes yes you can paint and draw but you are a draughtsman

As Dennis said you are a master at this Derek.

Great, full of life and vitality.

Thanks Satu, we had some less than 3 mins with just the drape I think. Thanks David very kind, thanks Russell, Sarah and Sylvia

I couldn't do that in three minutes! Just doing the few life sketches that I've done, I know how hard it is to get some sort of resemblance to the forms. I much prefer this type of lively/scratchy sketch to the more detailed pieces. Thanks for posting Derek.

Appreciated Fiona.

Superb sketches, Derek. The lines are loose and lively, and you've captured a lot of vitality in the poses.

30 cm sq in A3 heavy cartridge pad From years back found when finding a pad I'd forgotten. , Model was with a drape and we had to move round her and capture her in a 3 minute pose

Eleventyeight as my hashing pals called my new age recently, it's supposed to sound better. Trying to paint every day in acrylics using only expired credit/debit cards, and partially succeeding as they're only for me and not show these days.
