Great face, I like your colours Debs.

This is a lovely portrait, I really like the colours Debs

Turkey time! And the livin' ain't easy...... Etc. I do wonder about the point of turkeys: the white ones are just about uneatable, and the bronze ones somewhat better, but not all that much. Do people buy turkey eggs? Any good? I feel sorry for turkeys - they've become a ritual slaughter, without being especially tasty. Give me a goose anytime - to coin a phrase.... I think, to be honest, the features get a bit confused in your painting - hard to distinguish the bill from the wattle: or am I just getting more myopic by the day?

I've only just drawn a cartoon of a turkey in church for a magazine so seeing this was quite apt - he's a lovely fella and great use of the medium

Thanks Carole, Kirstie and Petra, ps Kirstie I think painting this has put me off eating one lol!

Hi Robert, no idea about Turkey eggs, as to the the painting, the wattle fell over the bill, but the point of the excercise [ challenge] was to paint in the style of Jean Haines, who produces very loose watercolours, sometimes you can just distinguish an eye and have to make out what animal it is, but thanks very much for taking the time to comment, always good to get feedback.

Thanks Michael, I shall look forward to seeing your Turkey cartoon!

This just put a smile on my face, Debs! He is ugly-fascinating for sure, and you've captured his very essence! Sorry for the late comment.'m traveling so just checking in from time to time.

Thanks so much Seok, will look forward to seeing paintings of your latest travels - take care!

That turkey seems to be saying 'You do what with a turkey.......!!!!' Lovely impressionistic painting with humour and character. Feathers and birds are not easy to portray, but this one is done in your usual super inventive and artistic style and it works really well.

Many thanks Thea, always enjoy reading your comments!

A friend challenged me to do a turkey, this is the result, used to think Turkey's were plain ugly, now I think they're ugly but fascinating!!!
