I like the structure very much here, David, not too happy about your palette though. The design is bold and eye catching, very illustrative in style, which appeals to me. You have a lovely dark contrast in the top left corner, which i feel is perhaps lacking in the mid- ground, which could use some Zing? Do you have draughtsmanship training? This is very well done.

Tthis style is based on the railway posters of the 1930's & 1940's , as they where all silk screened (way back before digital printing) so there has to be no half tones. hence the pastel type colours and virtual flatness of the posters..yes Ruth i was trained as an architect then ventured into interior design ,and later became an established exhibition stand designer ASIAD. check my gallery if you need "ZING, this is just one style i dally in !

Thanks for replying David, I can see now why the structure appealed to me, as I so well remember the old posters in the LMS and LNER carriages (I'm a child of the 30's so remember it well.) I will have a look at your gallery. I did some silk screen printing in the 60's incidentally and can see what you are saying. i hope you didn't mind my Zing comment, it has rather worried me that i might have been out of order, if so...sorry, David.

NO PROBLEM RUTH NO OFFENCE TAKEN, ANY CRITICISM IS BETTER THAN NO COMMENT AT ALL, I HAVE NOT PERSUED THIS STYLE LATELY, AS IT NOT ORIGINAL ,AND I LIKE TO EXPERIMENT ,I THINK THAT IS THE NEVER ENDING QUEST FOR AN ARTIST TO LOOK DEEP AND FIND A NEW WAY TO EXPRESS ONES FEELINGS BEST WISHES DAVE WILKES
