Hi Chris, i favour the 'warmer' version, it definitely has got more life to it, and is not just a 'cold observation.

That's certainly warmed them up. You were brave to try it, it could have gone horribly wrong, even the flower looks warmer.

Loose but delicate, and yes, you've achieved warmth.

A very nice watercolour. I know how difficult that lace can be and you have succeeded! You haven't added too much detail and it definately works! I think it's lovely.

Definitely better, it has warmed the whole composition. I like the lace, I agree it is very hard to portray, best of all the little yellow buttercup just gives the final touch.

Hi Chris. Firstly, I want to thank you for telling me about "paintmyphoto" I am sure to find inspriration there! I have enjoyed looking through your portfolio - so many gorgeous paintings. This one is fab! and I love your snow scenes.

Diana, Olga, Lorraine. Thanks for your comments on my previous Grapes on lace painting. I have added a wash of Alizarin criimson. You were right. Can you hear them sing?
