Charming subject Christine. I'm not sure the light and shadow works....light coming from the right and the front it seems?, Oo The hair on the right would be lighter, one side of the face darker. Re the palette knife, that will be difficult in such a small painting.

Not really the right subject or size for palette knives. I agree with the others re light and shade. The bucket’s shadow needs to be as dark as the shadows on the legs, particularly towards the bottom. Charming subject though.
