I like the way you got the stone. Beautiful colors.

Much prefer this version. The other gave the impression of having scaffolding.

Hi Caz. I too like this from memory I cannot recall what was wrong with it...A question do you paint in the joints between the stones and then fill in the stones? or Paint the stone surface and then add the joints? Just curious...

I agree Diana - was just trying something different but I much prefer this one too. :)

Hi Phil Bit of both - i look for the general tones on the surface and paint that in a solid colour, use a variety of colours for linear strokes to pinpoint the joints and then follow up with a few high and low lights to finish - if necessary I add shadow colour in a glaze. Hope that answers your questions. Just been looking at the original this morning and it still needs a tweek plus also I've noticed this picture isnt very sharp I may post anther version later :0

Wow so vibrant love it. Best regards Paul.

Hi Carole thanks for the answer...it is the sort of thing that does my head in trying to get a realistic look...well done, you seem to have pulled it off here...

Thank you Phil - only cottoned on to it whilst painting this. Just realised it's well out of focus - will post a better picture when I take it.
