What wonderful textures, Bridget, and how well the painting conveys the force of a storm. I'd hate to be caught out in that!

Wow, this certainly packs punch bridget!

Great sky! So much to enjoy - the colours, the textures and the overall design of it. Well done.

this must have great deal of impact at the size it is. Each time I look at it it reminds ne of differant things , clounds ice water.. Where in somerset are you ?

I love storms, and this is a stunning depiction of a magnificent storm coming... Love the colors and movement!

In answer to Helen's question where in Somerset are you? I live in a little village called Wrington, North Somerset. We also have a house in North Cornwall of which the picture of "Storms Coming" was painted

this for me has a fantasy feel to it, and the book 'Northern Lights' was conjured up when i first saw this :-) full of drama, mystery and atmosphere, i like it a lot :-) i wonder if you added any salt to this?

Yes I know wrington Bridget, I work around burrington and wrington, I have missed the open studios now shame it would have been great to meet you in person. I do like your style !

Thank you Helen would be great to meet you too. The next Event is the Made in Wrington Open Studios on at the weekends of 24 - 25 November + 1-2 December. Lots of local talented artists opening their doors. Hope you can make it.

Hi Rebecca thank you for all your comments. I did not use salt I just let the wet on wet do its wonderful work. The watercolour + inks work wonderfully together letting them run together is very exciting. I always think I am in control but in the end the results can exceed my expectations.

This is absolutely incredible! I wish I had painted it!!! Well done indeed. Did you use salt? Jx

Sorry just read all the other comments and now reaise my question has been answered. Fantastic picture Bridget. All the best with you exhibits. Jean

congratulations on this painting being in the Top Ten of November :-)

by the way, i know what you mean by letting the water and ink work by themwelves and produce their own wonderful works, what brand of acrylic inks did you use? they are so vibrant and intense, :-)

Storms Coming was painted hidden in a drawer for ages before I had the image of it scanned and produced into a greeting card. During a recent Open Studio event many people commented on the card asking where the original painting was. So I have now had it framed for the Somerset Arts Week open studios and it has drawn a lot of attention and interesting comments. Painted on Saunders Waterford Rough 100% cotton mould made acid free watercolour paper using Watercolour and Acrylic Inks. Size including frame 80cm x 100cm
