Concert
I posted the mock ups of this painting, which is now complete bar the shouting, on my blog last month. The client has seen both the principles, composer/conductor Ennio Morricone and soloist Susannah Rigacci, live in Milan on two occasions and, suspecting that Morricone who is now ninety years old, might not wish to perform much longer, he commissioned this piece. I have singled out the two leading characters by making them virtually full body studies and by treating them as though they are under spots, rather than the subdued house lights which illuminate the rest of the assembly and render them in various mellow flesh tones. A painting "that looks like a painting", was the main element in the brief, which hopefully this succeeds in being.
