Thank you all. Yes - Tessa - I love painting with oils, specially for landscape; and I only had a two and a half hour window yesterday, which encourages loose painting. I have lots of paint left over on my palette, so I'll do something else this afternoon. Oddly I didn't think of the subject as being particularly challenging; just interesting. I chose one that would suit the residual colours left behind on my re-used, sanded-back canvas board.

After a winter of portraiture and life drawing in pastel, I wanted to to get my oil paints out again. This was inspired by one of my own photos of Dolaucothi Gold Mines taken on a spring break in April 2022 - and feeling a bit rusty, I re-used an old canvas board.
