Clearing sea mist

a very good painting i like it a lot,gives the feeling of quietness,and lonelyness.were the boats and seagulls masked out or put in with gouache?

Just checking out your gallery again and can't believe I haven't commented on this painting. As John Cox says so simple but so effective with a great feeling of peace and quiet. With regards to your question (with apologies for not answering earlier) have I ever painted the Gower, I am ashamed to say no. I have only been back to Swansea once since I started painting and unfortunatley that was to scatter my mums ashes in her beloved Wales. I'll be back one day soon and I'll definatley have my paints with me!

Firstly thank you for your comments on my paintings. I try to paint/draw from life so we don't have too much time usaually - maximum of a 3 hour session. Short poses first then a longer one. I think all your gallery is excellent. I have tried watercolour and found it very difficult. It looks so easy when done right - and you have done it right. Keep it up. Stu Fairlamb
