Love that sky, Brian. I think the figures and the dog add to the scene. Lovely colours.

Thank you very much, Ellen, for the encouraging comments. Appreciated. I'm pleased that the figures are adding to the overall effect. Thanks for letting me know. Bri

I agree with Ellen about the sky Brian, it’s perfect for a scene like this, it gives the impression of a big space. The figures are wonderful, very animated. I think the gulls are a must Brian....but where to place them?

Thanks, Fiona! Yes, Where to put them indeed. I was thinking of either top or bottom/middle left, for balance, but I'm not sure yet. They'll be small wherever they go. I'm getting a lot of noise on my photos recently and I wonder if its the changing light conditions. Hmmm. Anyway, I really appreciate you dropping in to give it the once over. Bri

Lovely brightness and techniques Bri

I think it's perfect just as it is Brian. Such a good composition and well positioned figures. Lovely blues in the sky and sea. The sky wasn't so blue in Manchester today was it but at least it didn't rain :)

Thank you very much, Dennis and Louise, for the kind comments and impressions. Much appreciated. No, it didn't rain, Louise, in fact we had a bit of sun later in the afternoon. Best to both Bri

Love the gradations of the blues Brian and the figures give vitality to the painting. Very tranquil to look at. Wish I was there.

By the way Brian, thank you so much for your encouraging remarks over my painting of Duridge Bay. It's so lovely of you to comment so positively, especially when you produce such cracking paintings yourself.

Beautiful sky and water Bri, the figures certainly add to the work which looks gorgeous. I think adding gulls would be a good move!

Thank you very much, Carole, Margaret and Gudrun for the highly encouraging comments and reviews. Much appreciated. Pleased the figures are working, Carole, and it was my pleasure to see and comment on your lovely Druridge Bay painting. I'm still toying with the idea of adding gulls, Margaret. Small ones wouldn't harm and they might add to the overall expectations of the viewer. delighted the wet sand is apparent, Gudrun. Thanks for letting me know. Best to all Bri

Oil on canvas 60 x 50 cms. Everybody likes a stroll on the beach at some time or another, even if they don't like sand in their toes, so I thought I'd paint this familiar scene for the comfort of it. I don't often include figures but eventually decided to go for it, mainly because I had wide open spaces and nothing in them. I'm sorely tempted to slot a couple of gulls in there, somewhere.
