Normally this subject is painted on a sunny, tranquil day. This has more life with the stormy sky, works well.

That's exceptional Barry. The dry brush in the foreground gives the sea a sense of shimmer. I like how you painted the sky too. All I can say is you're ready to teach Herman Pekel and likes how to paint.

It's all Pin Mill this week, I put a stormy oil one on yesterday. Lovely watercolour Barry, I love Thames barges and the little scratched out ropes are an excellent touch.

Last night a friend sent me the photos he had taken of Thames Barges at Pin Mill. I have used one of my own photos taken on a day when the weather was closing in, as I wanted to create some extra drama. It is painted in watercolour on half imperial Arches rough paper.
