I too like Alvaro's work but I actually prefer this as you have more detail. This is a cross between Alvaro's and John Yardley's painting style. Great result!

Most of my work is landscape or townscape but I have recently I did an oil painting from a photo I took in a Bath pub which has opened my eyes to the possibilities of interiors as a subject. I have been impressed by the work of several artist but especially like some of the cafe interiors by Alvaro Castagnet. I used Arches 90 lb not quarter imperial, flooded the paper with my initial washes and then used my darks to pick out the light areas such as the table tops. Finally I used white gouache to pick up the highlights on the heads and shoulder of the diners. As an initial attempt I think I did ok but would try and get more light on th floor area if I have any more attempts .
