Very nice Barry and I think your right to keep your eye on things a watercolour looks great if it clean and crisp and unfussy , and this is , lovely BARRY

I often go back to basics Barry, we need to sometimes and boy is this another clean and beautiful watercolour, I can't fault it!, this is a winning formula.

Thanks Dennis my thoughts exactly, I’m always telling others to simplify and keep it fresh I just need to take heed of my own advice!!!!!

Thank you Alan, I think it’s important to experiment and explore with your art but never forget what is already in the locker.

A nice example of what watercolour is all about Barry.

Clean and fresh, being simpler...but even your more "layered" work such as "A Day in Cromer" works brilliantly in my opinion. You have the skills to take it as far as you want.

Super, fresh watercolour Barry, in style it reminds me of Jem Boden's work which I know you like also.

Thank you Timothy, just want to make sure I remember the journey.

Thank you Stephen, not surprised at your comment Jem and I have similar role models and paint together in the same Plein Air group. In my opinion he is one of the most talented landscape watercolourists around at the moment.

Agree with all and with you about Jem and Steve Barry superb as always

Thank you Dennis nice to see you back your opinion is always very welcome.

Thank you Peter, glad to hear that others also feel the need from time to time.

Beautiful loose style, Barry.

Thank you Cesare.

Just seen this again on the top line of the gallery. I recently watched an old DVD of Steve's and this is so reminiscent of his fine work, well done.

I have been doing a bit of back to basics recently as I felt some of my painting was getting a bit dirty and losing a bit of its freshness. For this one I have borrowed from my friend and mentor Steve Hall with my version of the River Wylye in Wiltshire his version appears in his first book.

I started painting in 2004, I am influenced by Wesson, Seago and many of the great masters, more recently I enjoy the work of Steve Hall, John Hoar and Alvaro Castignet to name but a few. I paint in a loose style and try to simplify as I can. The medium I enjoy most is watercolour but dabble with…
