Another fabulous old rusty lock!

I obviously missed your pencil drawing somehow but this watercolour version is superb. The grain of the wood, the tones and last but not least the rustiness of that old bolt couldn't be bettered. Your lovely paintings of such mundane objects never cease to amaze me.

A fabulous job Avril, love the peeling paint.

This is so clever. I love the way you have captured the different textures - beautifully done!

Enjoyed the pencil drawing, and this is all your above admirers say it is - wonderful depiction of tones and stages of disintegration in wood and metal. Clearly there was something important behind this door once upon a time ... but not lately!

Gosh! I'm so pleased you all like this.As Robert says this door has a history of its own... Many thanks.

Avril, the above said it all, I agree with them completely. Your subjects are so original, I can't tell you how much I admire your work!!!

You are the master at painting these subjects. This is superb!. Many thanks for your comment on my Blue Door.

To see and capture such a beautiful image from something that most would walk past is a skill of it's own. Superb texturing.

Wow this is beautiful! I love your subject matter. The textures and pattern is amazing.
