You remind me of the first time I painted on a stretched canvas - it was an experience I couldn&#39;t have anticipated until I tried it; quite magical, really. <br /><br />I like your painting - for its sense of mystery and depth, and those rich colours in the foreground where you could have used nondescript blacks or browns.

Canvas has to be my preferred surface especially in oils, but need to try and get back to them. <br />This is a mysterious, sometimes forbidding piece but as Robert says, the colours make it less so when studied.
