I've used drafting film and like it too but only with coloured pencils. I love the effect you've got by incorporating the pan pastels and the ink. You've given me food for thought with this stunning painting!

This was something different for me.I had read about drafting film and how good it was so decided to find out for myself. The photograph I used was from Gillian Merritt, free reference pictures for artists. I used coloured pencils for the kingfisher, white acrylic ink for the bubbles and a mixture of pencils and pan pastels for the water. The nice thing about drafting film is that you can use colour on the reverse to give it more depth, then I put a sheet of black paper behind to complete it.
