Beautifully caught and one to keep for posterity Andrea. Nice work.

Gorgeous picture, Andrea.

Thank you for your lovely comments Jim :-) It took quite a while to finally get this one onto the easel, but I am so relieved that I finally did! :-)

Great painting Andrea, indeed worthy of the top line.

Thank you for posting your compliment Linda. Couldn't resist this little character as a painting. Freezing cold day and still wanted to stay and play in the sand! :-)

Thank you Cesare, very kind of you to post this :-) Happy painting to you!

Thanks Russell, I've been meaning to tackle this one for the longest time, so very relieved I finally did it! Great of you to comment! :-)

Absolutely delightful Andrea!

Thank you Satu! Great compliment - and much appreciated! :-)

Captured a great pose Andrea!

You must be well pleased with this painting Andrea, it's a little masterpiece, I love it.

Thank you Margaret, really kind of you to post this lovely response :-) ....maybe I should look for some more family snapshots??

Thank you Carole :-) so glad I had my faithful old camera with me ..... back in the day! :-)

Thank you Fred, that's such a lovely comment! Yes, I was very pleased to capture his face and likeness quite quickly... it was actually the coat that was most challenging, working out the folds and getting all the layers of colours so that they looked right. Very happy I finally got around to painting it! Only 16 years on the 'to paint' list!! :-)

Thank you Fiona :-) ....finally packing the paints away with rather mixed feelings over today's new painting - so your comment is very much appreciated! Glad you like it, really lovely of you to tell me! :-)

Beautiful and charming Andrea.

Thank you Jennifer :-) I've really enjoyed looking at your work in the gallery! :-)

Finished! I've relayered the sky, filled in quite a few gaps and added more sand. Then I signed it so that I can't fiddle with it any more!! I've called it 'Borrowed Gloves' because we ended up at the beach, mid-winter - with a pair of 'emergency' gloves several sizes too big!! (Now I know why mittens for kids used to be so popular - it's SO hard to persuade little digits into the correct knitted finger! ....and even then, some would prove to be mysteriously empty!) Thank you for looking.
