Oil on board with oil pastels; inspired by a visit to Monet’s house in Giverny. The colours and brightness of the garden contrasted with the shady interior of the hall. Both the house and garden were very busy and chaotic with people jostling to find space and a view, and I think this painting reflects that. It was under painted with acrylics, very quickly and spontaneously, then finished with oils.
