What a good use of time. You've caught the textures very well; the ruggedness. I'm sitting there with you, on a slightly overcast day admiring the veiw, with that underlying menacing power the sea has, lurking.

Thank you for your lovely description, Gudrun. I'm sure you'd make an excellent companion.

A really atmospheric painting Amanda. I agree with Gudrun, the texture in the rocks is really good amd the scene has a quiet moody feel to it. Really nice.

A lovely, atmospheric piece. Love the knifework.

I do like your style Amanda....I think I may have said that before! The sky in this is super, as is the rocks and everything else!!

Thank you, all. It has to be said that knives do ruggedness very well...

Painted on the beach while the rest of the family messed around in boats. They all have Cornish blood; me, I'm a landlubbin' Midlander. A few more words: http://amanda-bates-artist.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/from-herra.html Oil on canvas, 18 x 14"
