Aha - these are a few of my favourite things; I have a small collection of pocket watches, and it's only a matter of time before I weaken and buy more. Nicely done.

You make the most profane objects look so interesting.

An impressive drawing Amanda! So intricate and I can see how it must have taken quite a while to place all those the tiny cogs and wheels that make up the workings.

I just knew that jones person would make a comment on this pic, knowing his perchant for pocket watches. It's beautifully done Amanda. I have a similar watch so you have inspired me to have a go....but in a tick.

A drawing that started with pencil (the nature of the subject required fairly accurate circles and placement of elements), moved on to Indian Ink applied with a dip pen (I broke the dip pen just as I finished that bit), and finally brought in Derwent Graphik Line Painters (pigment ink pens with Japan nibs) and a bit of watercolour to block out the surround. It's on an A5 leaf in one of my current sketchbooks, but I don't quite consider it a sketch... it took too long!
