It all works very well indeed. I especially like the boats, and the tiny figures on the breakwater.

I understand what you aim for Alan. That suggestion without over description. Letting the paint talk but its not easy getting there. But who wants it easy?

Yes the boats just add a bit of interest but not too much to take away from that lovely splash of silvery white light, love the colours 😀

I like this very much. The boats and people add enormously to the scene, as do the yachts on the far horizon in front of the distant land bank. I don't do landscapes but the ones that appeal to me most include signs of human activity. This is fine work.

I like the subtle colouring, nice one Alan.

A beautiful hazy light Alan, the boats placed well and the little figures give scale. Love the twinkle on the water.

Looks great Alan.. I always need a focal point. Not happy unless there is something to draw the eye too. Lovely painting and great light, shimmer and sparkle.

Colours and light, magic. You have so much material for the lates comp.

Love the palette Alan, especially the odd touch of magic colour you add.

I knew this was yours, Alan, before I saw your name. Once again a lovely painting and the boats just add to it.

Work of top quality as always Alan

Great painting all round, Alan, with a beautifully understated palette and excellent touches of colour. Lovely depth and highlights to compliment this very moody piece. Delightful! Brian

Colours are super, Alan.

Once again I am delighted that you liked this one, thankyou all so much.

30 x 40cm oil on board. Similar MO to my last one, the view is from the other side of the breakwater, just as interesting I think. Once again, I've tried to limit the detail, but it was necessary to add the boats to break up that foreground area.
