A "yes" from me....(-:

you've been busy resting Alan well done

I thought we had not seen your work for a while Alan, hope the rest did you good. You have caught the feel of this lovely spot very well. Went on a painting holiday nearby a few years ago and we sketched from about this foot. Brings back happy memories.

If that is 'resting' I'll have to try it!

Wow! Love this Alan. You've created an amazing composition with the strong vertical masts. Love the palette you've chosen too with the earthy reds. Fab piece.

Love the palette Alan, great painting.

Good to have you back, Alan, with this most wonderful sketch!

Hooray...you're back Alan, I hope you are well rested. You haven't lost your touch either....fabulous!

I love this composition Alan- expertly done as always

Fabulous sketch Alan. Really like this.

60 paintings, a rest? I know this is small, but is really is beautifully formed.

Welcome back, Alan, beautiful sketch with lovely colours.

Nice to see you back Alan. I'd wondered where you were! Super sketch, like the pen work and colour.

Well thank you all so much for your kind comments, the work is not worthy of them but after almost packing in painting I 'forced' myself to embark on this series, each one taking no more than say 20 mins or so, hopefully I will continue now with some oil painting.

You wouldn't be able to stop painting all together Alan, there's something inside us that just makes us have to paint. A break yes, but even then, you feel something is missing in life. Painting can be frustrating, annoying and not always rewarding I know. It's not an easy life being an artist is it? How many times I tell myself that I'll paint the next day and then it doesn't go to plan and I find something else to do. So many ups and downs but the rewards can be great. Good luck :)

Ink and watercolour sketch, 8 x 6in, part of a series of 60 small sketches that I have just completed during my '' rest'' from serious painting, but now time to get the oils out again and produce something of substance.
