I should be very proud of that - well, I probably wouldn't be, because as you know we're very rarely happy with what we've just done! But I ought to be happy with it if it were mine, and you should be. How's that for a convoluted sentence? In short - I like it, I like it! Well done.

Thank you very much, Robert, for the more than encouraging comments. I'm delighted you liked the final(ish) painting. Appreciated. Isn't that the truth. There's always something to change or nudge and we're never content. I ended up repainting the birds, retouching the trees and foreground foliage, and adjusting the reflections and shadows. I'm done now and will try to post the final version tomorrow. Bri

Here's the final version, which I'll post in the gallery soon. Interestingly, after lighting the painting from above AND below the colours intensified. I used white light, the kind I have in my lamp fittings.

Thanks again, Alan, for the kind and generous comments. I also like to photograph paintings outside, when I can, for the diffused light it offers. I'm really pleased with the photo this time round. Makes a change. *smile* Bri Here's a photo of the said pond.

I took this today in natural light and as you can see the colours aren't quite so garish. Just letting you know. *smile* Bri
