Other than the wheels and tyres, the '66 plate car is finished: Hope to get this one finished tomorrow, then onto the Diner! Anth
Looking superb! Keep at it, Anth, it's a beauty. Bri
Cheers Bri!
Nothing wrong with tracing. Any fool can trave lines to paper...its what yiu do thereafter that counts. And what YOU are doing looks good!
That's the way I look at it David, works for me :)
Got a little bit of progress on this one last week, along with a start on another Mustang - got commissions piling up now so need to pull my finger out! Aim is end of November for both Mustang paintings so I can start on a slightly eclectic mix of a Vauxhall Viva and a Pontiac Firebird :) Anth
Thought I'd finish the 66 plate car off in this one while I was waiting for the red one (see WIP elsewhere) to dry... Please excuse crap photography, twas fairly dark - will get some better shots if I can get some daylight tomorrow. Now onto the Diner! Anth
I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished article, Anth. Your number plates are so well done. Great stuff all round Bri
You and I paint VERY differently: I so rarely map out a painting like this - but if I could get results like these, I'd change my technique in a flash....... at least, I would if anyone wanted me to paint cars again; I have done it, though only twice - for a Ferrari fiend. Strangely enjoyable as a change - but I wouldn't want to do it often. Anyway - your work is superb; you ought to charge lots and lots of dosh for it, and I trust you do.
Thanks Bri, Robert, Marjorie :) Been working on the red Mustang elsewhere in the WIPs today, but I hope to get some progress on the blue ones this week! Robert, my style of painting could be considered slightly agricultural by some, but it definitely works for me. I'd be interested to see your automotive work as other peoples' interpretation of my favourite subject matter always fascinates me! Not charging enough to make a full-time living out of it yet, but certainly doing better than I was - it's now a proper part of my income rather than 'pocket money', as it was when I had a proper job lol. Anth
Bit more work done on the Diner: Awnings are getting there and windows and wall started. Anth
Two things happened today - the brakes on my Peugeot failed, and I finally bit the bullet and renewed my Creative Suite subscription. The first thing meant an unplanned day's holiday, which I used to get the Diner painting almost finished. The second means that I can tweak my pics in Photoshop again so they don't look completely pants 🙂 Here's progress from today.
