Having received a tube of Quinacridone Magenta I thought I'd try mixing it with my standard colours. Having done this I quite like the vibrant colours obtained when mixing it with cobalt and ultramarine - also it works well with lemon yellow to get a great peachy colour. Will I add it to my palette? Well it will be useful for the small highlights (someone's shirt in a distant figure for example) and for some great shadow colours when mixed with the blues so I guess I'll make use of it from time to time. For those interested I've just posted the chart in the gallery - it's at: http://www.painters-online.co.uk/gallery/art-view,picture_222512.htm

That is a very good chart, I like the vibrancy of the colour, I wish I'd sent for a tube, would make a great addition to the botanical pallet. Thanks for taking the time to share this info Michael.
Thanks Syd, I'll have a look at that, and that does seem like good value.
Appreciate your efforts with the review and colour chart Michael ! Cheers for the heads up on Amazon Syd. Tony
