Tower Bridge. My third and final attempt at the challenge. Black ink with two shades of grey, plus a splash of white gouache. A4 Grey paper which acts as a third tonal grey. From my own zoomed-in photo, taken during my recent visit to the RA.
Nice to have five to catch-up :) have been painting, but its the inside of the house, what a task, and a blinking good clear out. Fabulous work everyone. Here is one of my entomology studies, I take many photos so why not draw and paint them as well— This is one with dark and mid tones, before I added some colour.
A really excellent drawing, Carole.
Thank you, Lew and Tessa, I get really excited when things turn out right, I've painted butterflies, but so many times the colours of these smaller insects go unnoticed, I use my own photos so there's no copyright issues. I'll post this fly, with colour, in the gallery, Tessa. I'm still working to get that metallic sheen.
Sorry for not posting for the last months. I had serious neck troubles and had to go to the pain clinic for some anaestetic injections. I want to take part in the challenge anyway, so this is a monochrome pen and wash I did some time ago. I hope to start drawing and painting (and posting) soon. I enter the forum everyday and keep watching you all!!!! All the best :) Mia
Thank you very much, Tessa. I hope to paint and draw pain-free in the coming weeks, after my last injection! The effect should last for about a year (fingers crossed!) All the best to all my friends at POL :) Mia
Beautiful clean work, Mia, hope you're on the mend.
Beautiful still life, Tessa, and it certainly fits the challenge :) Mia http://www.painters-online.co.uk/artist/MiaKetels
I was impressed with the still life Tessa did in class, so I used it as a model and did the same, lamp black and a touch of white in a one-brush excercise. Hope you don't mind Tessa as it's only for here and not the gallery.🙂 Jim.
