I've been twice on the gallery today Syd and never saw your painting, what a shame. It is such a pity that they fall off the page so quickly. I have commented and I have been kind - as usual!!
I doesn't take long tor a painting to disappear by the end of the day, if you post in the morning. What busy days you have, Syd. Its nice to read you have plenty to do in your retirement. And you certainly have plenty of inspiration around you. Have you ever painted a picture of your tomatoes, Syd. ..could this be the next challenge?
I don't think that I saw Syd's painting either. I agree it is very hard to keep up with the gallery and forum. But I can't keep up with the dreaded FB either. If I'm short of time, I don't comment, but just deliver a few likes on the gallery. Facebook gets a different treatment - mark all notification as read. It would be better for me if the number of postings were further limited.
I must be a very slow painter? I'm always amazed how some people can post three of four each day onto the POL gallery.

🙂 Nothing nicer than a fresh tomato from the greenhouse, such a lovely smell, a lovely offer, but sadly too far away. With the weather being so lovely at the moment, many spend time outside. Maybe keep the challenges for the long winter night ahead. See what the other think, first. Nice painting, Syd, left a comment.
I saw and commented Syd. There are so many new members and I think most of them don't ever comment on other gallery works, so IMHO limit it to 2 per day.
I totally agree with what is being said but surely it is time to put a message on the ADD A NEW ITEM IN YOUR OWN GALLERY area.. REMINDING ARTISTS THAT ONE A DAY PLEASE and this will give others a chance for their latest work to be seen. after we can't all be painting three or four paintings every day. or is it ok to dig out from our archives? Sylvia .....glad to read your husband is improving if but slowly. Tao

 absolutely  I dread to think of the comments.
Yes Pat, that's exactly the thing I do - go back to where you left off! It can take ages sometimes especially if you can't get time to look for a day or two.
I hate to admit it but due to the volume of postings I only occasionally look in the gallery these days - disappointing but when I do I feel overwhelmed by the sheer quantity.
I guess I am looking for something that is different, something that excites me, something I'd be happy hanging in my own home, something that makes me want to click on to the image for a closer look. Bearing in mind I haven't the time to go through all the postings in the gallery individually I have just gone back quickly scanning the last 10 pages in the gallery trying to ignore the artist and even the title as I didn't want to be influenced and could only find two paintings which came anywhere near. That's not to say that there isn't some great work there but there were the only two which jumped out at me and ticked all the boxes I've mentioned. Perhaps it's a bit naughty of me to name the ones that caught my eye but to heck with it - they are: Wedding Dress Glow by Diana Boanas and Evening on the River Arun by Brendan Smith. I am sure others will disagree but we are all different aren't we.

Blogs limited to 50 words? But ... but... I can't say anything in fewer than 200! Would you rip the tongue from my mouth, break my typing fingers? I think it depends largely on what's said .... I know what you're talking about, and I just staggered beneath the sheer weight of obfuscation (deaf to irony, you see...) in the case you cite. I don't mind reading a long piece, certainly don't mind writing one (though I do leave long gaps) but vapid repetition does lie particularly heavily on one's nipples....
