Oh, Reeves - yes: I used to use Reeves oil paints, many years ago; I've even got a little left - Light Red, and Terre Verte I think - and I still use them. They do have quite a history, Syd, yes - I never seem to see them now, in shops or catalogues.
Well I tried the Winsor and Newton gloss varnish and it is the one I have used. I did some test between the two it would be nice to show them for reference...somewhere here? Why oh why did Reeves go for that greyhound? In my opinion it really doesn't send out the right image. Since 1766 they have been making art materials, Royal appointment, the lot. You still see them in the Toy Shops. What a shame, oh well.
