The artist John Piper is one of my key inspirations, as are many of the war artists from the Second World War: Nash, Ravilious and Sutherland to name a few. Piper is relatively unknown as his work as a designer, a painter and with stained glass is a delight. The following link has a wonderful collection of images of his work:
