Pastel is such a forgiving medium and alterations can be made too, which is why it is so good for commissions! The owner of Shadow was delighted with the portrait of him but, after having the picture on the wall for a few days, thought the length of the collar was distracting from his face. I was not sure if I could remove the end as it was dark on light hair but I brushed off the excess with a soft paint brush then carefully selected the correct colours to cover the affected area. Turned out well!
