I received an email from Reg Lowe this afternoon letting me know that Maureen Lowe passed away on Wednesday 3rd of February. Maureen's blog was titled Arty Blog and over this past year we have become good blog friends along with many others. Her Husband is both devastated and exhausted so I felt that perhaps I should let you all know of Maureen's passing. I remember Maureen as always busy running here and there all in the name of art...I also remember her who with others fought to keep Durban House open...Durban House being the place where a young D.H. Lawrence went to collect his Father's wages earned in the mines...D.H. Lawrence lived a short distance from Durban House...the fight was won. I don't know what else to say except I'm deeply saddened and will miss Maureen with her special humour and busyness and of course her beautiful art.
